Description
Horseback riding for beginners at the Certosa di Calci begins at the riding school, before you ever get in the saddle. A short lesson comes first, covering the basic commands, so that nobody sets off unprepared. Riders aged 8 and over can join.
The hour that follows is rated easy. You ride to the Certosa di Calci, carry on along the stream and reach the abandoned convent of Nicosia, where the buildings and the landscape come together in one view. A path then brings you back to the equestrian centre.
- English riding style
- Guide on horseback and use of a helmet
- A photoshoot of your ride
Come in long trousers and sneakers, and leave scarves and other loose clothing at home. The helmet provided is compulsory, and phones and cameras are not allowed while riding. Children under 14 are always walked alongside by an instructor. Weight is limited to 100 kg, and anyone with a physical or mental condition should say so when booking so the staff can check that the ride is feasible.
