Description
Sunset horseback riding at the Certosa di Calci takes you out of the riding school and into the Valgraziosa as the light turns warm. It is an easy one-hour ride, built to be enjoyed by first-timers too.
A short briefing on the basic commands comes first, so you can get used to your horse. The trail then follows the stream towards the historic Certosa di Calci through natural scenery, and goes on to the foot of the abandoned convent of Nicosia, where the view opens over the hills. The way back is along a path through the trees.
The low sun colours the hills and gives the ride its quiet, relaxed mood.

The ride is recommended for adults and for children from 8 years old; under 14s are always walked alongside by an instructor. Wear long trousers and sneakers, and skip scarves and loose clothing. Rider weight is limited to 100 kg. Phones and cameras may not be used during the ride, and if the weather is bad you can reschedule or get a refund.
