A Livorno shore excursion to Florence and Pisa makes sense when you have one day in port and want both cities. A brief shuttle from the cruise terminal gets you to the coach, which is air-conditioned and has free Wi-Fi for the roughly 90-minute drive to Florence. In Florence you get about three and a half hours of free time among the squares, monuments and narrow streets of the Renaissance city. Spend it shopping or tasting local food, or add one of the options:
- a walking tour led by a local, through the city's highlights
- a ticket to the Accademia Gallery, home of Michelangelo's David
The coach then continues to Pisa, where you have around an hour and a half of free time in Piazza dei Miracoli. Take your photo with the Leaning Tower, or choose the tower option and climb it for the panorama. The group is capped at 80 travellers, and the return to the ship on time is guaranteed.
A glass of wine in Florence is included. Hotel pickup, food and drinks, and the transfer from the port to Livorno city centre are not. Children under 8 cannot enter the Leaning Tower.
