Description
This Chianti wine tasting tour from Livorno leaves Livorno for a drive across Tuscan hills and valleys, past vineyards and medieval towns. In summer the fields of sunflowers add colour to the road. It is a half-day trip, lasting between four and four and a half hours, and groups are small, from 7 to 15 people.
At the winery, local winemakers explain the traditional methods behind Chianti and show you the vineyards where the grapes grow, as long as the season and the weather allow it. A guided tasting follows, with a selection of wines that shows what sets the region apart.
Your host also talks about biodynamic farming, a traditional way of making wine and extra-virgin olive oil that respects the environment and puts quality before quantity. Some local products are on the table to try alongside the wine.
