Description
A private excursion from Livorno port to Florence begins as soon as you leave the cruise ship, where your driver is waiting. The ride to the Renaissance city takes about 90 minutes, and the vehicle is private, so you travel only with your own party.
The first stop is Piazzale Michelangelo, a panoramic terrace with a wide view over Florence. From there you go on to Piazza Duomo, where you can walk around the cathedral complex, look at Giotto's Bell Tower and the gilded bronze doors of the Baptistery.
Next is Piazza della Signoria, the lively centre of the city. Palazzo Vecchio rises on the square and the Loggia dei Lanzi shelters its famous statues. You can also walk to the Ponte Vecchio and along the Arno river.
