Description
On this private walking tour of Pisa the route is yours to shape. After you book, you answer a short questionnaire about your tastes, and a host who suits you gets in touch to plan the day. The walk can begin at Piazza dei Miracoli or at your hotel door, and you choose the length when booking, from two hours up to six.
The leaning tower is only the start. Depending on what interests you, the walk can lead past shaded courtyards, student cafes, historic neighbourhoods and artisan shops, and along the Arno where street art turns up on the walls. One possible stop is a Romanesque church that hides a cloister.
Food can be part of it too: warm cecina from a bakery, or pecorino with a glass of Chianti at a deli. Along the way your host tells tales of scholars, saints and daily life in Pisa.
