Description
The dwarf sheep tour in the Pisan Mountains is a countryside walk with a four-legged goal. From the village of Buti you follow the paths through ancient olive groves, through scenic spots, until you reach a little flock of dwarf sheep, the tiniest sheep anywhere.
Your guide tells you how these little animals help in looking after the olive groves. They are curious and friendly, and if they come to trust you, the stillness around the flock is worth savouring. The whole outing takes about two and a half hours, with up to two hours on foot.
- The hike between the olive trees
- Time with the flock
- A keepsake made of wool from the very sheep you met
- An extra virgin olive oil tasting
The keepsake and the oil are handed over when you are back in Buti, where the walk began. The outing is a walk through the groves, so it is not suitable for wheelchair users, people with mobility problems, heart conditions or low fitness, or those allergic to insects. Getting to Buti is up to you, since transport is not included.
