Description

An organic olive oil tasting near San Miniato at the Inserrata farm: two home-produced extra virgin oils, tried with Tuscan focaccia, cheeses and cured meats over about two hours.

This organic olive oil tasting near San Miniato takes place at the Inserrata farm and lasts about two hours. It begins with an introduction to the farm's approach to production and to organic farming, and to how the olives are picked by hand and cold-pressed.

Then comes the tasting itself, led with a professional technique. You try two oils made on the farm, a Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil PGI, both from local varieties such as Frantoiano and Moraiolo. The oils are paired with Tuscan focaccia and a selection of local products.

  • Tuscan focaccia
  • Cheeses
  • Cured meats

Along the way you look closely at the sensory traits of the oils, the olive varieties they come from and how the season shapes them. On request, the visit continues in the olive grove, among the centuries-old trees where it all starts.

The experience is about tasting and learning, in the Tuscan countryside outside San Miniato. It is not suited to children under 10.
