Description
This Italian wine tasting in Lucca takes place at Tomkat, a wine bar that also has its own kitchen, set inside the old town not far from the walls. In about 90 minutes you taste five wines chosen to show how different Italy's wine regions can be.
A guide presents each glass: where the wine comes from, which grape it is made of, how it was produced and what it tastes like. The language is plain and meant for people tasting wine for the first time as well as for those who already know their labels. Some bottles are classics, others come from small producers that are hard to find away from their home area, and the list changes during the year with availability and season.

The group is limited, so there is room to ask questions and to eat without hurry. The guide speaks English or Italian. Extra drinks, bottles bought in the shop and dishes from the menu are paid separately. The tasting is for adults only, aged 18 and over, and pregnant women are advised against it.
