The Inserrata Truffle Hunting experience begins with your arrival at our organic estate in the hills of San Miniato, where you will be welcomed by our team and by our expert truffle hunter, accompanied by his faithful Lagotto dog. After a brief introduction to the history of the truffle and the local area, you will set off on a guided walk through the estate's mycorrhizal forests, an ideal habitat for the prized white truffle and other seasonal varieties. Along the way, you will learn to recognize symbiotic plants, observe the soil, and understand the signs that indicate the presence of truffles. You will be able to observe the dog at work firsthand and take part in the harvest. After the hunt, you will return to the estate, where a lunch featuring fresh truffles prepared with local ingredients will be waiting for you: fresh pasta with butter and truffles, truffle-infused eggs, and Tuscan bread with our organic extra-virgin olive oil. Your meal will be accompanied by a guided tasting of three Inserrata organic wines, selected to enhance the aromas of the truffle.
