Description
A horse-drawn carriage ride in Tuscan vineyards is a slow way to see the countryside: you sit back while the horses take you along the rows of vines and the olive groves of the Poggio alla Farnia estate, through rolling hills.
The ride is slow, with time for the scents, the colours and the panoramic views over the land. When it ends you step down at the winery for a visit to the cellar and the barrel room. There you learn how the estate's organic wines are made, starting among the vines and going through fermentation up to ageing in barrels.
A guided tasting closes the experience, so you can taste the link between the land and what is on the table.
- Six organic wines from the estate, including a Chianti DOCG and a Toscana IGT
- Bread with the estate's organic extra virgin olive oil
- A board of cold cuts, cheese and assorted crostini
The whole experience lasts about 90 minutes. If you have allergies or dietary needs, tell the organisers in advance so they can prepare for them. It suits couples and anyone who prefers a calm, scenic outing to a long walk.
