Description

A Morelli pasta factory tour through a working Tuscan pasta maker founded in 1860, with the Pasta Museum and, if you choose it, a meal at the in-house MO restaurant.

A Morelli pasta factory tour begins inside the Antico Pastificio Morelli, which dates from 1860 and has reached its sixth generation. Production carries on while you walk through, so you can watch each step, from picking the raw materials to drying the pasta.

One detail sets Morelli apart: fresh wheat germ goes back into the semolina, giving the pasta a stronger aroma and flavour. After the factory comes the Pasta Museum, a route in which vintage machinery, tools of the past and multimedia displays retrace the story of pasta and of milling. An audio guide covers the museum in seven languages.

Before leaving you can browse the factory shop, with more than 60 pasta shapes and the brand's own products. With the meal option, the visit closes at the MO Gourmet Restaurant, a smart modern room, where lunch or dinner is built around artisanal pasta.

  • Guided visit of the Antico Pastificio Morelli
  • The Pasta Museum, visited with a guide
  • The factory shop
  • A meal at Ristorante MO, with the meal option

The visit alone takes about an hour and a half, and with the meal it stretches to two and a half hours. Transport to the factory is not included.
